RV Campsites

Otsego Lake State Park is a charming and popular family park easily accessible to I and Gaylord, “The Alpine Village.” The park is shaded with large oak, maple and pine. It encompasses 62 acres and provides more than a half mile of sandy beach and large sites near or within sight of the lake.

California State Parks Campgrounds Dogs are allowed in California State Parks campgrounds, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and in a tent or enclosed vehicle at night. Pets are not permitted in park buildings, on trails, or on most beaches. Angeles National Forest Campgrounds Campsites are first come, first served with a maximum day stay at a site, and a total of 30 days stay per year in this Forest.

The Angeles National Forest offer group campgrounds on all three of the ranger districts, some accommodating up to campers. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campgrounds and on the trails. Recreational Vehicles no longer than 30 feet. There are 40 campsites.

Northwest What was once slated to be a controversial subdivision is now a unique island preserve thanks to the Little Traverse Conservancy. Oden Island, located south of the village of Oden, juts out into Crooked Lake and is the home to large old-growth trees and fragile wetlands. When a developer proposed crowding 34 homes on the east half of the island, the Conservancy orchestrated a response in that included an outpouring of support and donations from communities and families to protect the natural side of the island.

Today the acre preserve offers a parking area, nearly a mile of foot trails Heartland Tucked away on the east side of Alden, oblivious to most visitors who are mesmerized by Torch Lake to the west of town, is a small mountain with a short but interesting trail system. Coy Mountain Natural Area dates back to when Reuben Coy decided to preserve a ridge forested in virgin hardwoods that towered behind his gristmill. It was the last remnant of the giant maples and beeches in a region that had been heavily clear cut by loggers.

What Is a Full Hookup at an RV Park

The new campground opens June Reservations can be made beginning Thursday, Feb. All campers must be self-contained because there are no restrooms or showers. All sites include water, sewer and electrical. Most visitors will be able to see the sun set over the lake from their campsites. One of the sites is barrier-free.

Camping: Campgrounds & RV Parks

The campground will open to the public Thursday, June 23, and reservations which can be makeup to six months in advance will be accepted starting Thursday, Feb. The new campground will boast spectacular views of Lake Michigan. It offers two options for camping, including a full hook-up campground and a tent-only rustic campground.

All camping units must be self-contained because there is no restroom or shower available. All the sites include water, sewer and electrical hookup.

Both parks and private campgrounds provide camping experiences and a host of recreational activities. Enjoy a traditional Midwest camping experience at the national park’s Dunewood Campground. Campsites include 53 drive-in and 25 walk-in sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Facilities at this seasonal campground are limited to restrooms and showers.

The big plus is that Lake Michigan is just a mile hike north of the campground. There are seven beach and swimming areas along the lakeshore for sunbathing and water play, but only swimmers at West Beach are protected by lifeguards.
